To hide certain conditions, many people have recently taken an interest in tattooing or micropigmentation. Patients with skin problems, especially those with vitiligo, are increasingly turning towards this approach. The majority of vitiligo patients are concerned about tattoo safety, fearing that getting a tattoo on their skin will aggravate their condition and cause new patches to appear. Here’s where you can get answers to all of your questions and concerns in one place. If you have vitiligo and wish to get tattooed, keep reading to find answers to all of your questions.
What is Micropigmentation procedure?
Let’s have a look at the micropigmentation method before we get to your questions. Micropigmentation is a cosmetic and/or therapeutic process that includes implanting minute, biologically inert pigment granules beneath the epidermis. Typically, two to four therapy sessions are necessary. The most popular treatments are vitiligo, tattoo removal, scar removal and concealment, alopecia, and areola repair. Micropigmentation is used to cover scars. It is applied to the patches to activate the body’s own collagen beneath the skin. It flattens the patch and re-pigments it to match the surrounding healthy skin.
Patch Test at Machu Tattoo Studio
Machu Tattoos ensures that a patch test is performed prior to the process. Patch tests are normally done to any part of the body and the results are usually visible in two to three weeks. We’ll proceed to the remaining parts of the body once the output is satisfactory. This patch test is quite effective since it prevents allergic reactions. Some clients who are travelling from afar and do not have time for a patch test usually proceed with the entire procedure on the same day. However, we may be able to perform it the same day, although caution should be exercised due to allergic reaction. It is not recommended; nonetheless, you may proceed at your own risk with 22 to 25% reaction rates.
What ink do we use?
At Machu’s, we match the ink to the customer’s exact skin tone. We utilise a vegan-friendly ink. It’s an edible ink that’s been designed specifically for micropigmentation. It’s not the ink we normally use for tattooing. Many clients have told us that the tattoos they acquired from local agencies turned black over time. However, in our studio, we only utilise the best inks to get the required results. The patch test allows us to determine the colour and tone of the final product.
Results of Micropigmentation method?
The only approach to attain the perfect skin tone is by micropigmentation. Other procedures such as skin grafting, ultra violet treatment, ultra-photo therapy, micro needling, and other surgeries only produce modest results. The micropigmentation approach, on the other hand, will have a success rate of 72 to 80 percent. Machu’s has got a lot of experience with this procedure and has always been able to satisfy our consumers throughout the years. When you come to our studio, you don’t have to be concerned about anything. You can relax and leave everything to us.
How it is done?
The micropigmentation technique is carried out in an aseptic environment at Machu’s studio. A local anaesthetic may be used or injected to relieve pain during the treatment, depending on the individual. The pigment is injected into the skin between the epidermis and the mid dermis. A unique and tailored blend of pigments is chosen for each customer to best match their skin tone.
What to expect after the procedure?
Following the procedure, you may experience little discomfort. There may be some blood and swelling visible. However, the region will heal in the next few days to weeks, and the desired results will be seen. After two to three weeks, the exact pigment will be much noticeable.
Aftercare
The micro pigmented area does not require any treatment. Topical lotions are recommended for calming the area, and after a few weeks, the area should be totally healed. At Machu’s studio we give topical creams to our customers for the aftercare.
